Vehicle theft syndicate cracked at Zimbabwe border

An Intelligence led operation conducted last night next to Beitbridge Boarder post in the Musina Policing area, yielded results as the syndicate involved in vehicle theft was cracked. The operation was jointly conducted by members from Crime Intelligence ,VIS and the Provincial Tracking team. This syndicate was smuggling stolen motor vehicles from South Africa to Zimbabwe through Limpopo river.

During this operation, 5 suspects from Senwabarwana, Musina and Soshanguve, in the Gauteng Province, were arrested and 4 stolen motor vehicles awaiting to be smuggled were seized.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba, has commended the members for the success. The suspects will appear before the Musina Magistrate Court today, 22 September 2016, on charges of possession of stolen motor vehicles. Police investigations are still continuing.
