Tajamuka Spokesman Promise Mkwananzi and several members of the ZlNASU
leadership were today arrested during a ZINASU meeting in Mutare.
ZimEye is told that a total 135 activists were arrested as the police raided and disrupted their meeting which they claimed was “too political”.
When contacted, Mr Mkwananzi told ZimEye he was now safe after being released, later, but
others including Pride Mukono and Father Johnson were still in police custody.
The people were taken in groups of 14 to different police stations around Mutare. The arrested include Zinasu President Alistair Pfunye, Board Member Fr Nigel Johnson among others.
