Gospel artist, Fungisai Mashavave Zvakavapano says she has been misunderstood by her critics.
As she prepared for another tour of the UK, Fungisai said she was never going to be sidetracked by her attackers. Fungisai was particularly ridiculed for her dressing and when she collaborated with chanter Killer T.
“I have always believed that my dream shall come true and that it shall not die. My faith in God and His promises are so true that I do not accept defeat from whatever negative force,” Fungisai told The Herald.
During the tough times she went through, Fungisai at some point threatened to quit music. “I have never been so confident of myself and now I know quitting music is not my blood. I am determined to shine for my family, husband, children and everyone who has contributed and supported this new ‘church person’ label,” she said.
Fungisai also said that she does not hold any grudges against people who attacked her. “I don’t hold anything against them since they had misunderstood me. They did not know, but now I know that their attitude has changed as facts unfolded to them,” she said.
This time around Fungisai is determined to take her music career to another level. “I am ready to take my space as a woman and Christian in the male and circular dominated industry,” said Fungisai.
